Mecalux Thyssen

In July 2005, Mecalux bought out ThyssenKrupp IngenierĂa y Sistemas (TKINSA), a company dedicated to industrial automation and material handling. The purchase followed a strategic decision to consolidate its position in the automated warehouse market, which is rapidly expanding with considerable potential for growth. This buy-out has reinforced Mecalux's automated storage division, by bringing on board a leader in automated services with all its experience and "know-how" in all types of automated solutions.

Esmena SL

In December 2005, the Mecalux group exercised its purchase option on 100% of the shares of Esmena, entailing the integration of both companies in a single common project. This is a strategic operation which enables the consolidation and extension of the range of products (as both companies complement each other with their range of products and services) and the consolidation of the different markets in Latin America, Europe and the USA. The new group is now the third storage systems supplier in the world with an advantageous position in all markets backed by 8 production plants in 6 countries, and a commercial presence in 16 countries. Moreover, the Group's workforce now totals more than 3,000 employees
