The beverage manufacturer will install a warehouse connected to production via conveyors

Slaur Sardet’s AS/RS in France managed by Easy WMS

Slaur Sardet, a leading French manufacturer of alcoholic beverages and syrups, is set to enhance its logistics operations with a new automated storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) from Mecalux at its centre in Le Havre. Equipped with eight stacker cranes, the solution will be connected directly to production through a pallet conveyor system. Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system will coordinate all processes carried out in the facility and monitor inventory in real-time.

“With this new warehouse, we’re taking a major step forward in modernising our logistics operations. Our goal is to increase efficiency to support continued growth while maintaining the highest level of service for our customers,” says Slaur Sardet's management team.

The company bottles around 160 million units annually and has a strong international presence. Its Le Havre plant, which integrates production, bottling and shipping operations, is located near the port. The site handles a high volume of international shipments, exporting approximately 1,600 containers to destinations worldwide each year.

Business growth has led Slaur Sardet to invest in transforming its facility. At the same time, logistics complexity — with multiple SKUs, packaging formats and production for both private-label and third-party brands — has increased the need for a more advanced logistics setup. In addition to installing a new AS/RS with a capacity for 20,000 pallets, the project includes modernising the finished goods storage area. In this space, Mecalux will install several storage solutions, including selective pallet racking, the semi-automated Pallet Shuttle system and pallet flow racking. The objective is to increase storage capacity and optimise inventory management.

As the production plant and warehouse are located in separate buildings, the project also features a tunnel that will connect the two facilities, enabling fully automated internal material flows. Through this initiative, Slaur Sardet is strengthening its logistics capabilities and preparing to respond more efficiently to international market demands.
