Pharmacie de la Gare is a leading pharmacy in Roissy-en-Brie and the surrounding area. It belongs to the Elsie Santé group, which operates more than 300 establishments. In addition to dispensing medications, Pharmacie de la Gare manages a 4,500 m² warehouse dedicated exclusively to health and personal care products.

Pharmacie de la Gare goes to great lengths to stock all the medicines and wellness products its customers in and around Roissy-en-Brie (near Paris) might need. If an item is unavailable, the business arranges for express delivery to fulfil the request the same day. This level of service is only possible with efficient logistics operations. The secret to this pharmacy’s speed and organisation is the 4,500 m² warehouse just 15 km away that supplies it. With its strong commitment to public health and extensive product catalogue, the business has become a trusted reference point for customers across the region.

“Our warehouse is organised similarly to the pharmacy so that when restocking, operators can intuitively tell where each item should go,” says Renaud Boyer, General Manager of Pharmacie de la Gare. In addition to this mirrored layout, the logistics team uses Mecalux’s Easy WMS warehouse management system to assist with goods receipt, item scanning, lot management and other tasks.

When health and beauty products such as dietary supplements, cosmetics and baby care items arrive at the facility, top sellers are stored in three aisles with picking shelves, while the rest are placed in designated storage areas. Orders are picked into reusable plastic bins, which are delivered to the pharmacy and then returned to the warehouse.

Easy WMS distributes tasks among operators to help them quickly locate the items they need among more than 15,000 SKUs and streamline order processing. This coordination enables the team to complete a multi-thousand-line order before 5:30 p.m., the carrier’s cut-off time. The software also manages the receipt and distribution of urgent requests the pharmacy receives throughout the day, ensuring customer orders are delivered as fast as possible.

Beyond efficient product organisation, Easy WMS has changed how Pharmacie de la Gare records and interprets activity in the warehouse that supplies France’s second-largest pharmacy. The Mecalux software segments, processes and structures the thousands of data points generated daily, converting them into actionable insights for monitoring operations. “We now have reports with supply chain KPIs such as occupancy and availability rates, assigned locations and incoming goods status,” says Vicent Darmon, Warehouse Manager at Pharmacie de la Gare.

Easy WMS has brought additional benefits to the pharmacy team. With the Labor Management System module, Pharmacie de la Gare tracks throughput across warehouse activities and makes decisions to improve efficiency. “With Labor Management System, we monitor our facility’s workflow to boost productivity,” says Darmon.

KPMG France and Pharmony ERP integration

Pharmacie de la Gare was looking for a robust and versatile warehouse management system that could coordinate with its Pharmony ERP software. To achieve this, the business partnered with Mecalux. As the Easy WMS integrator, KPMG France conducted the functional analysis for the project and validated its implementation with Mecalux’s support. Both systems were rolled out simultaneously without disrupting day-to-day operations. This enabled Pharmacie de la Gare to maintain its service levels and continue delivering high-quality care to its customers.
